Squadron's Severe Weather Policy
In the event of severe weather, the Squadron will make every effort to remain open for a parade night. We will only close the Squadron if staff cannot make it in, or if the TA have taken the decision to close the centre.
Cadets who are not sure whether to travel can find out our status in several ways. We will endeavour to post messages on both the Squadron’s website and Facebook group. Cadets are reminded that they can also telephone the Squadron on a parade night, where we hope to have a member of staff available to answer calls.
Our priority is always the safety and welfare of the cadets. It is always a personal decision whether to travel, and we would never expect cadets to make their way to the Squadron in difficult conditions if they, or their parents, were concerned. Those who make the decision to travel in should ensure they are dressed appropriately – including footwear. Uniform requirements will be relaxed as needed – boots are entirely suitable to be worn to and from the Squadron, for example!
Any questions should be directed to the OC in the first instance.
