Storms Clear For Take Off

In the early hours of Sunday 15th November 2009, five cadets rose even before the sun to make their way to Kenley WWII Airfield for a day of adventures in the sky!

The cadets embarked on an adrenaline filled day in the air, getting involved in all aspects of glider flying from preparing the aircraft for launching, to actually trying their hands at flying the Viking Gliders themselves, some for their first time! A huge deal for anybody, let alone for a group of teenagers barely old enough to drive a car!!

The lucky Cadets- namely FS Jen Nixon; Cpl Alice Wilcox; Cdt Charlie Ann Rees; Cdt Ashley Messenger and Cdt Charlie Turner- each had four launches, with the opportunity to take over the controls and fly the gliders singlehandedly once in the air ...
